Job summary

Advocate Health offers a remote finance internship for the summer session, May 31, 2027 through August 6, 2027. The 40-hour work week runs Mon-Fri, with pay at $21.00 per hour. The position is remote and limited to residents in eligible states, including Iowa.

Interns will use Excel to automate processes, review charge discrepancies, and assist with financial analyses and budgeting. They will also support cost accounting, budgeting, and revenue cycle projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field with junior or senior standing.
• Enrollment in an accredited college or university with GPA 2.5+.
• Strong communication and analytical skills required.
• Proficiency with Excel and data manipulation expected.

Responsibilities

• Use Excel to develop automated processes and reduce manual work.
• Review, analyze, and investigate discrepancies in charges and implement necessary changes.
• Prepare financial and statistical analyses and extract data for trend calculations.
• Develop cost accounting standards and participate in budgeting and variance analysis.
• Support revenue cycle projects including cash posting and insurance follow-up.
• Track and update reports; perform administrative duties as needed.
