Job summary

Nutrien Ag Solutions, the retail division of Nutrien, is seeking a Technical Development Representative to lead precommercial field research for Loveland Products and support the LPI sales organization. This remote role covers the Northern Plains region, with duties spanning Minnesota to Washington state and up to 50% travel.

You will design protocols, supervise trials with contract researchers and universities, analyze data, and translate findings into marketing content for customers.

Qualifications

• MS degree (required) or Ph.D. (preferred) in agronomy, soil science, crop science, horticulture, plant pathology, entomology, weed science or related discipline
• Experience designing, conducting, evaluating and analyzing agricultural field research
• Demonstrated applied field research, technical education, and data management skills
• Strong computer skills (JMP, ARM, Excel, PPT)
• Clear & effective decision making, with data-driven conclusions
• Knowledge of crop inputs and farming practices in Northern Plains and Pacific Northwest
• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently from home and manage own schedule
• Travel up to 50% with company vehicle provided
• Live within 60-minute of an airport; willing to relocate if needed

Responsibilities

• Provide technical project leadership with a primary focus on LPI innovation and collaboration with portfolio managers
• Lead precommercial protocol development and experimental design to meet LPI business objectives
• Establish and maintain an applied field research program with contract researchers and universities
• Validate, analyze, and summarize field data with statistical analysis and data summaries
• Convert data into marketing content and map product placement, positioning, and value
• Offer technical leadership and guidance for science-based product advancement decisions
• Collaborate with LPI Sales for knowledge transfer and training to retail staff
• Monitor and evaluate 3rd party technologies to fill portfolio gaps
• Disseminate knowledge for current and future users
• Adhere to Nutrien policies and SH&E standards
