Job summary

ORR Protection, a national leader in fire and life safety, seeks a Field Solutions Manager to lead engineering, review designs, and ensure code compliance across projects. You will mentor teams, support commissioning, and coordinate with operations and sales to win complex opportunities.

The role emphasizes leadership, design reviews, and continuous improvement while traveling as needed to support customer needs and project sites.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in fire alarm, fire suppression, or life safety systems.
• Experience with engineered fire protection systems.
• Experience supporting field installation and commissioning.
• Working knowledge of fire alarm systems, special hazard suppression systems, water-based fire protection systems, clean agent systems, detection technologies, smoke control, emergency communication systems, video fire detection, and BDA systems.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, hydraulic calculation software, battery calculation software, and manufacturer configuration software.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership & engineering support for fire alarm, clean agent, water-based suppression, special hazard, and life safety system projects.
• Review and approve engineered system designs, drawings, calculations, and equipment selections.
• Coordinate with designers and CAD personnel during project development.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA, IFC, IBC, UL, FM, AHJ requirements, and manufacturer standards.
• Assist in developing company engineering standards and best practices.
• Serve as a technical resource for complex troubleshooting and system performance issues
• Support permitting and AHJ plan review responses.
