Job summary

Astrophysics Inc. seeks a Field Service Technician to install, maintain, and repair X-ray security inspection systems at customer sites across New York.

You will diagnose issues, order parts, complete documentation, and ensure high customer satisfaction while traveling to various sites as needed. The ideal candidate will have an electronics or computer engineering background, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Fluent English in written and verbal communication.
• Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites.
• Professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
• Strong customer-service orientation and communication skills.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing electronics or computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation, preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Complete service documentation, surveys, and reports.
• Test equipment to diagnose malfunctions and manage parts flow.
• Input data into service databases and update records.
• Prepare equipment, parts and documentation before arriving on-site.
• Provide progress updates to customer and service HQ.
• Deliver customer packages including warranties and surveys.
• Provide operator and technical training as needed.
• Support custom installations, upgrades and special projects.
