Job summary

Geotab is seeking a Field Service Technical Specialist to deliver technical support across installation and field services. You will conduct site visits, quality audits, and create installer certifications and guides.

You will work with customers and resellers on specifications, while collaborating with Product and R&D teams to drive improvements. The role requires hands-on electrical and automotive electronics expertise, plus the ability to travel up to 60% and work in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of experience as installation field service specialist in Telematics/Automotive.
• Experience with OBD and CAN communications, SAE vehicle standards, and serial data interfaces.
• Experience with hardware/software integration and data set analysis.
• Knowledge of database systems and data analysis.
• Experience managing 3rd party contractor relationships and strong customer service.
• Proficiency in automotive electronics and testing equipment.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% and international travel.

Responsibilities

• Deliver technical support and quality assurance across Geotab’s installation and field services ecosystem.
• Provide design input to the New Product team and support telemetry pilot programs.
• Conduct site visits and installation audits to ensure Geotab quality standards.
• Create and maintain installer certification programs and installation guides.
• Support customers and resellers with technical specifications and data requirements.
• Perform live installations for demonstrations or training and create installation media with L&D teams.
• Collaborate with Product, R&D, resellers, and partners to meet project needs and timelines.
• Track and improve installation processes and update all technical documentation.
