Motive is seeking an Installation Specialist to install, maintain, and repair telematics devices in customer vehicles, blending hands-on technical work with customer interaction and project management. You will travel 50–75% annually, train customers on-site, oversee installations, audit third‑party work, and collaborate with Field Engineering to drive product improvements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Extensive experience in technical equipment installation, service and repair.
• Knowledge of vehicle wiring and electrical systems; ability to read wiring diagrams.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Experience installing IoT devices and aftermarket electronics at scale.
• Strong technical background; able to manage complex installations independently.
• Excellent communication; able to train customers and collaborate with teams.
• Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time.
• Spanish language proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install Motive product suite (gateways, AI cameras) on customer vehicles.
• Train customers on-site and support trials.
• Manage RMAs and lead on-site deployments for strategic customers.
• Oversee installation projects and perform on-site quality checks.
• Collaborate with Field Engineering to inform product improvements.
• Create installation guides for custom configurations or unique requests.
• Provide remote assistance to third-party installers with questions.
• Escalate and resolve technical issues for stakeholders.
