Job summary

Atlas Copco Compressors LLC in Columbia, SC is seeking a Field Service Technician to deliver OEM-level maintenance and advanced diagnostics for compressed air systems. You will travel within the territory, provide expert technical guidance, and participate in training at the Air Academy.

The role requires 2–5 years of multi-craft experience, proficiency with electrical diagnostics, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2–5 years multi-craft experience in HVAC, electrical diagnostics, industrial maintenance or OEM field service.
• Proficiency with multimeters, megohmmeters, control circuitry and interpreting electrical schematics.
• Ability to manage workload independently and deliver high-level customer support.
• Experience navigating computer systems, completing work orders, ordering parts and training.

Responsibilities

• Promote and follow safety procedures and PPE practices.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics and repair on compressed air systems (VSD drives, controls, electrical systems, refrigeration).
• Provide technical consultation to customers on performance, reliability, and optimization.
• Execute OEM-level inspections, preventive maintenance and overhauls on compressors and dryers.
• Document service findings, warranty forms, start-up documentation and parts returns.
