Job summary

SAIC is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to join our Land Border Integration team in the Tucson area. You will maintain and repair deployed equipment at Ports of Entry, with travel up to 150 miles from home base and potential for remote work options.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree or 6 years of equivalent experience, strong troubleshooting of electronic and mechanical systems, and proficiency with Word/Excel for reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 6 years related experience.
• 6 years field service or equipment installation preferred.
• Must reside in the Tucson area and be able to drive up to 150 miles daily.
• Strong troubleshooting of electronic and mechanical systems required.
• Proficient with Word/Excel and report writing.
• Ability to document maintenance accurately and clearly.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections at Ports of Entry on deployed equipment.
• Diagnose malfunctions and implement timely repairs to minimize downtime.
• Install new equipment per specifications and SOPs.
• Coordinate upgrades with internal teams and external vendors.
• Follow CBP/SAIC IT and security policies and document activities.
• Adhere to OSHA and local safety regulations during tasks.
• Respond to emergency repair requests and provide on-call support.
• Maintain professional interactions with CBP personnel and vendors.
