Job summary

Premier Tech is seeking a Field Service Technician to service, maintain and upgrade industrial automation and packaging equipment. You’ll audit, plan safety measures, retrofit and train customers to improve performance and productivity.

Role supports remote work with regular travel to customer sites; proximity to Salt Lake City office is valued for local support and training when not traveling. Requires strong electromechanical skills and PLC troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Proven field service experience with electromechanical, pneumatic or hydraulic equipment.
• Ability to interpret electrical/mechanical schematics and troubleshoot PLCs.
• Strong communication, time management and training skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to travel weekly and lift up to 50 lb; valid US passport and driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Manage uptime by proactively identifying and addressing customer challenges.
• Advise and train customers on equipment operation and safety.
• Integrate customer operations into clear actions and recommendations.
• Build strong relationships with customers and cross-functional teams.
• Report daily activity, travel plans, and timesheets; provide phone support as needed.
• Promote services, parts, retrofits and training aligned with customer goals.
• Audit equipment and provide recommendations to optimize uptime.
• Test equipment to ensure safety regulations are met; adapt to changing travel schedule.

Education

Associate degree in mechanical, electrical or automation
