Job summary

Alfa Laval invites applications for a Field Service Technician to join our US Southeast team. You will provide 24/7 on-call field service, troubleshooting, and training at customer locations for mechanical, electrical, and electronic components such as decanters, high speed separators, and heat exchangers, ensuring reliable operation and efficiency.

You will travel up to 70% while performing preventive maintenance, emergency and warranty repairs.

Qualifications

• Associate degree with strong mechanical background.
• 5+ years in similar roles with transmission systems experience.
• Good mechanical skills and aptitude.
• Ability to communicate operational and safety parameters.
• Customer service and sales orientation.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Team player and able to work independently.
• Basic PC skills (Word, Excel).
• Travel availability 70%.

Responsibilities

• Execute basic maintenance and minor repairs on customer-site equipment.
• Investigate and resolve basic technical problems at customer sites.
• Prepare service jobs according to the FSE Handbook.
• Follow up on actions with customers and document outcomes.
• Write on-site service reports and obtain signatures.
• Update service execution IT systems with relevant data.
• Report unsafe practices per local procedures.
• Capture Installed Base on site and communicate sales leads.
• Provide proactive spare parts recommendations to customers.
• Perform services in Service Centers as required.
