Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a field service technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment at customer locations. This remote position requires residency in Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, or West Virginia to support the local customer base.

You will diagnose using test equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and assist with installations under supervision. A degree or equivalent experience is expected, with strong emphasis on customer service and safety.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations.
• Initiative and proactive work attitude; drive to accomplish goals.
• Problem solving in manufacturing or field service context; apply appropriate approaches.
• Safety knowledge for oil & gas; compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose malfunctions using test equipment and refer to schematics as needed.
• Use tools to analyze, repair or replace faulty parts with guidance.
• Observe common causes of trouble and perform preventive maintenance under supervision.
• Perform routine installations and make adjustments within standard procedures.
