Job summary

InTest Thermal Solutions is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our service team. You will support installation, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of customer systems at client sites, with training and mentorship from the Head of Global Service.

This remote role offers 50–75% travel across California and the Western United States, requiring residency within reasonable driving distance of major airports in the Orange County/LA area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Strong interest in hands-on engineering and field work.
• Willingness to learn new technologies.
• Strong communication and customer-focused mindset.
• Comfortable working independently with guidance.
• Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation and commissioning of new customer systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and calibrations (NIST and ISO 17025) with training.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues at customer sites.
• Learn to analyze product performance and identify root causes.
• Communicate clearly with customers and provide updates.
• Complete service documentation and reports using CRM and service tools.
• Support parts ordering and service logistics processes.
• Learn to recommend appropriate service agreements based on customer needs.
• Travel to customer sites across the West Coast (and occasionally beyond).
