Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Field Service Engineer (Transfusion Service Ambassador) to support the Transfusion Medicine Division. This field-based remote role requires residency within 30 minutes of Cincinnati, OH, with up to 75% travel.

The position focuses on on-site lab customer service, instrument installation and maintenance, and growth through service offerings. Strong troubleshooting and customer-facing skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent required; laboratory or blood bank instrumentation experience is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of customer-facing experience delivering technical, service, or operational support.
• 2+ years supporting instrumentation in a lab setting is required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as on-site representative for Abbott Diagnostics Division.
• Own customer relationships to drive retention, loyalty, profitability and value expansion.
• Provide first-line technical support for complex diagnostic instruments to ensure uptime and satisfaction.
• Install, commission, preventive maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting of instruments.
• Drive service revenue through menu expansion and value-based solutions.
• Coordinate orders, contracts, inventories, and lifecycle management.
