Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Field Service Engineer (Transfusion Service Ambassador) to support the Transfusion Medicine Division. The role is field-based and remote, requiring residence near Cincinnati, OH and up to 75% travel.

You will install, calibrate, maintain diagnostic instruments, provide first-line technical support, and collaborate across Sales, Marketing, and Technical Service to ensure customer satisfaction and uptime.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years supporting instrumentation in a laboratory or blood bank.
• Minimum 2 years of customer-facing technical or service support.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-site representative of Abbott Diagnostics Division, partnering with laboratory customers.
• Own customer relationships focusing on retention, loyalty, profitability and value expansion.
• Provide first-line technical support for diagnostic instruments, ensuring uptime and customer satisfaction.
• Perform instrument installations, commissioning, preventive maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Technical Service, Customer Support, and Finance teams.
• Support territory objectives including on-call coverage and travel.
