Job summary

PerkinElmer is seeking a Field Service Engineer to perform on-site installations and provide high-visibility customer support for complex equipment and systems. The role involves troubleshooting, service, and repair while instructing customers in operation and maintenance, acting as the company liaison on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.

Qualifications

• BA/Bachelor degree in Applied Science, Biology, Chemistry, Electronics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related discipline including military experience plus 3 years direct experience with repair of laboratory equipment
• Associate Degree in Applied Science, Biology, Chemistry, Electronics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related discipline including military experience plus 5 years direct experience with repair of laboratory equipment
• High School Diploma plus 7+ years direct experience with repair of laboratory equipment

Responsibilities

• Perform installations, maintenance, validations, and repairs while ensuring compliance with PerkinElmer’s service standards and KPIs.
• Engage with customers to understand analytical workflows and tailor service offerings including training, support, and upgrades.
• Enhance account profitability through efficient service execution and by identifying revenue opportunities such as billable work, consumables, and service leads.
• Maintain assigned assets including tools, test equipment, telecommunication equipment, and service parts inventory.
• Report improvement opportunities via the quality notification process to improve product quality.
