Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking an ImmunoDiagnostics Division Field Service Engineer to service IDD analyzers remotely from the Raritan, NJ area.

You’ll work with hospitals and reference labs, perform repairs, maintenance, and upgrades, and train BMETs and staff on instrument operation. Applicants should have an associate degree in electronics/biomedical engineering, hands-on diagnostic experience, and strong Windows/network skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in related life sciences or technical customer-facing roles.
• Experience with operating, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating complex analyzers or systems.
• Experience in a clinical/regulated environment (CAP, CLIA, FDA) is preferred.
• Strong competency on Windows and other software; network knowledge; electrical/electronics; mechanics; chemistry.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite service including repairs, preventive maintenance, upgrades, and installation of IDD analyzers.
• Travel on short notice to customer sites to resolve issues or support other field staff.
• Adhere to GDPs and internal policies for field service reports and parts handling.
• Demonstrate professionalism and technical knowledge in customer interactions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Provide remote and onsite training to BMETs or advanced operators.
• Increase technical competency through training courses.
• Manage travel expenses per Thermo Fisher travel policies.
