Job summary

BioNano Genomics is seeking a Field Service Engineer II to install, maintain and repair our Saphyr imaging systems at customer sites. The role emphasizes high-quality on-site support, timely issue resolution and collaboration with global teams.

The candidate will travel up to 60%, work remotely from home when not on site, hold a technical degree, have at least four years of capital equipment support experience, and possess a valid driver’s license and passport.

Qualifications

• Experience in alignment and troubleshooting of imaging systems or relevant research/clinical devices.
• Professional communication and writing skills with customers/internal partners.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must have a valid passport or ability to obtain one within 3 months of start date.
• Based near major airport.

Responsibilities

• Installations, upgrades, preventative maintenance and repairs at customer sites (up to travel 60%).
• Diagnose and resolve complex instrument faults minimizing downtimes.
• Maintain regular communication with customers and internal partners for timely resolutions.
• Collaborate with regional/global teams for success.
• Handle administrative tasks: installation/maintenance reports, parts ordering/returns, expense reporting.
• Provide customer updates and feedback to support product improvement.
