Job summary

General Motors seeks Field Service Engineers to provide on-site automotive diagnostic and repair support for GM's dealer network. This remote role covers Irvine and Costa Mesa, CA, with travel within the territory and relocation if not currently in the area.

The position emphasizes customer-focused service, issue escalation, and collaboration with DMPS, BRM, and BRC to reduce warranty costs while training dealership staff on Techline tools and processes.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years hands-on automotive dealership service experience.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Proficient in MS Office applications (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
• Ability to resolve and close dispatch cases in timeframes.
• Capable of self-training and skill advancement.
• Track record of maintaining customer satisfaction in a multi-location territory.
• Ability to create and deliver specialized training.
• Excellent communication and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site third-level support to resolve technical issues for GM dealers.
• Maintain relationships with DMPS, BRM, and BRC to minimize repurchases and warranty costs.
• Assist dealerships with repurchase processes and conduct in-dealership training.
• Drive PI bulletin process and notify TAC Escalation Team.
• Support Field Product Reports and warranty improvement initiatives.
