Job summary

Auto-Owners Insurance seeks a motivated field claims professional to manage the lifecycle of claims from investigation to resolution. The role requires handling multi-line property and casualty claims within an assigned territory with emphasis on property claims.

Travel and on-site investigations may be required. The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and at least 3 years in similar claims, with strong communication and data interpretation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or direct equivalent experience handling property and casualty claims.
• Minimum 3 years handling multi-line property and casualty claims.
• Field claims experience preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of Xactimate software preferred but not required.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to handle multiple assignments.
• Must be able to drive and maintain a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and assemble facts, determine policy coverage, and evaluate loss amounts.
• Handle multi-line property and casualty claims in an assigned territory with emphasis on property claims.
• Learn insurance coverage by studying policies, endorsements, and forms.
• Work toward claim resolution and attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials as needed.
• Ensure claims payments are issued timely and accurately.
• Conduct investigations by phone, mail, and on-site as needed.
