Mackinnon Bruce International partners with an innovative and rapidly growing laboratory automation manufacturer and seeks a Field Automation Scientist to support customers across the United States.

This highly technical, customer-facing role focuses on commissioning advanced laboratory automation systems, optimizing customer applications, and ensuring successful implementation of integrated workflow solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in life sciences or related field; advanced degree advantageous.
• Experience in applications, field service or technical support for complex automation systems.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory workflows and practices.
• Experience with Python or similar programming language is a plus.
• Excellent troubleshooting and customer communication skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% across US/Canada and occasional international trips.

Responsibilities

• Lead installation, integration testing and site acceptance of automation systems.
• Deliver customer training after installation and commissioning.
• Support development and optimization of automated workflows.
• Act as the automation software expert for configuration and troubleshooting.
• Provide remote and on-site technical support for complex applications.
• Collaborate with engineering, service and commercial teams to ensure outcomes.
• Document issues, solutions, and customer interactions in CRM.
• Share field insights to drive product and app improvements.
• Travel across US and Canada with some international travel.
