Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Field Auto Appraiser - Catastrophic Loss to inspect, identify, and evaluate auto vehicles involved in a loss. This role requires travel to inspection locations and handling estimates using estimatics software, with emphasis on repair vs. salvage decisions.

Ideal candidates have 2 years of appraisal experience (1 year in appraisal), strong knowledge of automobiles, and solid negotiation and interpersonal skills for field collaboration with repair facilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Licenses as required by state guidelines.
• Two (2) years of related experience to include at least one (1) year of appraisal experience or equivalent education/experience.
• Strong knowledge of automobiles.
• Ability to understand and utilize appraisal software.
• PC literate, including Microsoft Office products.
• Strong organizational skills and excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and meet performance competencies.

Responsibilities

• Appraises and determines costs of repairs to damaged vehicles in the field; decides repair vs. replace and parts utilization.
• Evaluates if the vehicle is repairable or salvageable using estimatics software.
• Travels to inspection locations to appraise vehicles in the field.
• Prepares estimates using estimatics software.
• Collaborates with auto repair facilities to determine supplemental repair processing and provide supplemental estimates.
