Job summary

Bruker is seeking a Field Application Scientist to join our North American commercial team. This customer-facing role serves as a trusted scientific advisor to academic and industry customers using advanced mass spectrometry-based proteomics workflows, with benefits from exposure to metabolomics or lipidomics.

The position is remote and based out of the western US. You will collaborate across Sales, Product Management, Marketing, and R&D to support customer success, design workflows, deliver

Qualifications

• PhD in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, or related field with mass spectrometry proteomics focus; or an MS with relevant proteomics experience.
• Hands-on experience developing, optimizing, and applying LC-MS/MS proteomics workflows.
• Strong understanding of proteomics sample prep, LC, MS instrumentation, and data analysis.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to communicate complex science to diverse audiences.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a field/customer-facing role.
• Willingness to travel up to 40% across North America.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted scientific advisor, educating and consulting customers on workflows including experimental design, LC-MS workflows, data quality, and initial interpretation.
• Troubleshoot workflow challenges and recommend best practices for project success.
• Deliver customer training through on-site visits, virtual meetings, workshops, and seminars.
• Partner with Account Managers during sales to understand objectives and provide scientific expertise.
• Deliver scientific presentations, product demos, and technical discussions communicating value and applications.
• Plan and support customer evaluations, proof-of-concept studies, and initial workflow implementation.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Product Management, and R&D on new product introductions and initiatives.
• Contribute to development of application notes, training materials, webinars, and customer-facing content.
• Represent customer voice by communicating workflow challenges and market needs to internal teams.
