Job summary

ASSA ABLOY is seeking a Field Sales Applications Engineer to bridge our access control solutions with integrators, consultants, and end users. This role blends pre-sales engineering, field support, and customer engagement to drive adoption of Control iD and related technologies.

You will travel up to 50%, work remotely in the Northeastern US, and partner with regional sales teams to deliver technical demonstrations, system design consultations, and training for partners and customers.

Qualifications

• 3-7+ years in sales or applications engineering within security.
• Strong understanding of access control components (credentials, readers, controllers, software).
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, PoE, VLANs).
• Experience working with systems integrators and security consultants.
• Ability to translate technology into customer value and business outcomes.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills; willingness to travel 30-50%.

Responsibilities

• Partner with regional sales teams to provide technical expertise through the sales cycle.
• Deliver product demos, design consultations, and technical presentations.
• Support specification development with A&E firms and security consultants.
• Assist system architecture design including readers, controllers, credentials, and software.
• Provide hands-on support for product evaluations and field deployments.
• Act as SME on Control iD and biometric/IP-based systems.
• Gather field intel on competitors and trends to inform product/marketing.
• Conduct technical training sessions for integrators and channel partners.
• Collaborate with product management, support, and engineering to resolve issues.
