Job summary

Waters Corporation seeks to add a Field Application Scientist to its Commercial team to cover the assigned territory. You will assist sales, sales development, and customer success initiatives for Wyatt Light Scattering and Aura instrumentation, reporting into the Market Application Specialist Senior Manager.

The role is based in a home office with daily customer interaction via email, phone, and on-site visits, traveling up to 70% regionally to develop business and achieve sales growth.

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry or equivalent.
• Master's or bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Five (5) years of hands-on experience with HPLC and Light Scattering instruments.
• Knowledge of polymer techniques.
• Knowledge of protein techniques.
• Strong communication and social skills, basic digital literacy.
• Driving record in good standing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and familiarity with basic lab techniques, instrumentation, and software.
• Excellent organization, motivation, attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Proactively develop new sales opportunities through onsite seminars and technical consulting.
• Manage early-stage opportunities to technical close.
• Provide master-level application support during the sales process and post-sale visits.
• Deliver post-sale training and customer success initiatives.
• Develop application knowledge to support biopharmaceutical, chemical, and academic markets.
• Build and present technical papers at industry events.
• Identify solutions delivering high value to key markets.
• Transfer knowledge from feasibility studies to product management.
• Work from a home office and travel up to 70% regionally.
• Maintain current product knowledge and monitor competitors.
