Job summary

Waters Corporation seeks a Field Application Scientist to support clinical and forensic LC-MS customers in pre- and post-sales activities. You will train customers on LC/MS instruments, demonstrate Waters solutions, and work with sales and service teams to resolve technical issues.

The role demands strong communication, deep analytical chemistry knowledge, and willingness to travel across the U.S. and Canada.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field with 1–2 years experience, or M.S. with 3–5 years LC/MS experience. Bachelor’s with >5 years LC/MS experience considered.
• Expert in LC/MS method development and troubleshooting; familiarity with Waters instruments/software is a plus.
• Experience with tandem MS and high-resolution MS in clinical/forensic contexts is valuable.
• Ability to travel 50–75% across the U.S. and Canada; valid driver’s license and passport required.

Responsibilities

• Train and support customers with Waters LC/MS instruments remotely and on-site.
• Demonstrate clinical Waters solutions through sample analyses in demo lab facilities.
• Assist sales with technical expertise via joint visits, trade shows, and internal meetings.
• Collaborate with service to review data, identify root causes, and propose corrective actions.
• Manage customer expectations and provide follow-up plans; build trusted advisor relationships.
• Seek opportunities to advance customers' lab operations with Waters products.
