Job summary

Merck & Co. is seeking an Associate Director, Field Access Management to lead a team of access experts and guide prescription access strategy across regions.

You will collaborate with Field Sales, Market Access, and Public Affairs to ensure compliant, patient-centered access programs. You will also educate internal teams on payer policies, prior authorization, and patient support programs while managing SOPs and hub operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 5+ years in pharma/biotech.
• Minimum 3 years in patient support, healthcare sales or operations, PM, or reimbursement support.
• Strong knowledge of health insurance structures (Medicare Part B, Medicaid, commercial) and related access processes.
• Expertise in pharmaceutical compliance and HIPAA regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with multiple stakeholders across teams.
• Experience in hub and patient support activities; hybrid travel 30-35%.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach a team of Field Access Managers (FAMs).
• Execute field access strategy and oversee team success.
• Educate on regional payor and Medicaid coverage to field team.
• Maintain SOPs for hub, specialty pharmacy, and field interactions.
• Provide field-based access education to stakeholders.
• Communicate patient enrollment, payer coverage, prior authorization, and hub processes.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings to align access strategy.
