Job summary

ERM is seeking a Managing Consultant, Environmental Regulatory FERC Specialist to shape regulatory strategy for energy infrastructure across the United States. The role combines environmental consulting with complex permitting, offering impact on major capital projects and sustainable energy outcomes.

You will lead FERC resource reports, engage agencies, and guide multi-disciplinary teams while traveling as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in environmental fields or related experience.
• 4–6 years (5–10 preferred) of FERC permitting project experience.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills; capable of regulatory work.
• Willingness to travel frequently and work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead author on FERC resource reports and permitting deliverables.
• Research, analyze, and compile data for permit applications and regulatory reports.
• Act as subject matter expert on large-scale projects, managing scope and safety aspects.
• Support technical proposals and contribute to business development initiatives.
• Engage with agencies such as FERC, USFWS, USACE, EPA and others; ensure QC across filings.
