Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Project Development Engineer to join our federal team, supporting U.S. military and other federal sites in the Mid-Atlantic region. This remote role allows visits to Washington DC metro sites for assessments.

You will lead design, scope definition (SOW), and cost development for facility improvement projects focusing on MEPP, HVAC, controls, lighting, and utilities, with project scopes from $100k to $2M.

Qualifications

• Experience developing mechanical and low voltage building automation projects.
• Ability to lead site surveys to assess facility systems.
• Proven estimating skills with RS Means or similar tools.
• U.S. citizen capable of obtaining government clearances.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site visits and develop a SOW for customer requests.
• Lead design, scope definition, and cost development for HVAC and low voltage projects for federal sites.
• Collaborate with Sales to identify opportunities and prepare concept proposals.
• Perform site surveys and data collection for projects from $100k to $2M.
• Review RFPs/PWS, prepare RFIs, and generate value engineering concepts.
• Prepare technical narratives and project schedules; manage multiple projects.
