Job summary

Johnson Controls Federal Systems is seeking a Controls Specialist / Controls Systems Engineer to support U.S. federal government sites, including CONUS/OCONUS assignments. The role leads on-site HVAC/BAS projects, coordinates installation, commissioning, and training, and ensures safe, cost-efficient operations.

Travel up to 80% internationally, with per diem benefits. Base salary ranges from $115,000 to $150,000, with bonus eligibility and full compensation explained during interview.

Qualifications

• Experience in system commissioning and/or programming of digital HVAC controls (DDC).
• Knowledge of HVAC controls, facilities management, and installation/servicing techniques.
• Strong understanding of control theory and HVAC equipment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Windows.
• Ability to communicate technical material to non-technical audiences.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Must travel ~80% internationally/overseas.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site project leadership to execute HVAC/BAS projects with assigned customers safely and cost-effectively.
• Coordinate installation, programming, commissioning, and training activities.
• Manage loading, verification, commissioning, and documentation of system controllers.
• Test and modify system software as required.
• Provide coaching and technical assistance to subcontractors.
• Train owner/operator on system operation and provide manuals.
