Job summary

SMX is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to provide security engineering, compliance, and risk management support for cloud systems aligned with NIST SP 800-53, FedRAMP, and DoD IL4–6. This remote role supports a Herndon, VA based team and guides partners navigating government security requirements.

You will develop authorization documentation, support RMF processes, and leverage GRC tools and automation to streamline evidence collection, testing, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience with FedRAMP and DoD-authorized cloud environments (IL4–6).
• Ability to translate federal security requirements into practical controls and processes.
• Experience developing authorization artifacts (SSPs, POA&Ms, SARs, policies).
• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain a Secret or higher clearance.
