Job summary

The Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OKDHS) in McAlester, OK, seeks a Family Services Specialist I/II to provide world‑class customer service and eligibility support for Adult and Family Services programs. You will interview, process electronic applications, and renewals for SNAP, Child Care, and Medical programs, while documenting casework clearly and applying policy.

This role may telework after in‑office training; training is in‑person for the first 120 days.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience performing administrative support, recordkeeping, customer service, or client service functions in a call center, business, healthcare, public sector, or social services environment.
• Bachelor’s degree required for Level II; associate’s degree plus two years’ experience or equivalent for Level II.

Responsibilities

• Interview and process electronic applications and renewals for all AFS programs (SNAP, CHILD CARE, MEDICAL).
• Interpret and apply policy and procedures; document casework clearly and perform tasks independently.
• Provide first contact resolution for clients via phone and virtual eligibility center.
