Zusammenfassung

Public Health Institute is seeking a Part-Time Family Interviewer to conduct interviews with families of women who died during pregnancy or within a year post-pregnancy. The role involves collecting contextual information, safeguarding sensitive data, and delivering written narratives for the CA Pregnancy-Associated Mortality Review.

The position requires 8+ years in related fields, bilingual English/Spanish, and flexibility to work evenings/weekends.

Qualifikationen

• 8 years of experience in social work, interviewing, trauma-informed communications, public health, healthcare, or related field.
• 4 years of documented experience within the past 4 years as a Social Worker (MSW, LCSW, MFT, LMFT, LPC, LPCC or similar degree), Qualitative Researcher or Applied Epidemiologist (MPH or PhD).
• Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology or related field; or substitute with four additional years of relevant experience.

Aufgaben

• Complete PHI and CDC staff training on interviewing protocols, confidentiality, bias and trauma with self-care techniques.
• Review case materials and coordinate with medical record abstractors to identify information gaps.
• Contact families using trauma-informed scripts and schedule interviews.
• Conduct semi-structured interviews by phone or video (30–90 minutes).
• Summarize interviews into written narratives and integrate into case summaries.
• Attend monthly committee meetings and participate in ongoing communications with PHI staff.
