Qualifications

• AHIMA CCS credential required.
• Minimum of three years of facility-based coding experience with relevant coding systems.
• Level-1 Trauma coding experience required.
• Experience coding both inpatient and outpatient facility records.
• Strong understanding of inpatient MS-DRG assignment and outpatient reimbursement methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Review medical documentation and assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, MS-DRG, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
• Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses and procedures through the query process.
• Maintain a minimum coding accuracy rate of 98% while meeting established productivity expectations.
