Job summary

The North Carolina DHHS, Division of Health Service Regulation, is seeking a Facility Compliance Consultant I (NS) to conduct regulatory inspections of licensed adult care homes and respite programs. This home-based position covers the Eastern Region and requires frequent travel with potential overnight stays.

You will document findings, provide technical assistance, and support DSS staff in regulatory oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in health, social services, or related field required.
• Experience with surveying, inspections, or regulatory compliance in health/human services preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and surveys.
• Ability to travel statewide and work independently as part of a regulatory team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site inspections of licensed adult care homes and respite programs to assess compliance with state rules.
• Evaluate facility operations, resident care, and environmental conditions for regulatory compliance.
• Document findings in legally defensible reports and identify deficiencies as needed.
• Provide technical assistance to providers, operators, and county DSS staff on licensing requirements.
