Job summary

Skin and Cancer Institute is seeking a Building Engineer to maintain facilities across Arizona and surrounding markets. The role involves hands-on maintenance, minor construction, vendor coordination, and ensuring safety standards are met.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of commercial building maintenance experience, with knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and the ability to travel overnight. A valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 75 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of commercial building maintenance experience.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and general building systems.
• Experience using hand and power tools.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to travel overnight as needed.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform general building maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain lighting, electrical fixtures, and related components.
• Troubleshoot and perform minor HVAC repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Complete basic plumbing repairs, including faucets, toilets, sinks, and drain issues.
• Repair and maintain cabinetry, doors, locks, flooring, ceiling tiles, and wall finishes.
• Perform interior and exterior painting as needed.
• Identify and report facility deficiencies and capital improvement needs.
• Travel to Skin and Cancer Institute locations throughout Arizona and neighboring states as required.
• Overnight travel may be required for projects, repairs, inspections, and emergencies.
• Respond to urgent facility issues after normal business hours when necessary.
• Remain available for emergency calls and critical facility situations on a 24/7 basis within reasonable expectations.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Ensure compliance with applicable building, safety, and operational standards.
• Document completed work, inspections, and repairs.
