Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry, designing, building and maintaining utility scale solar, battery storage and high voltage substation projects nationwide.

The External Communications Specialist will shape strategic storytelling, oversee media relations, and develop thought leadership content to elevate SOLV Energy’s reputation across projects and audiences. This role can be fully remote or based in our San Diego, CA office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, English, or a related field.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
• Strong interviewing, research, and information-gathering capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to build relationships across an organization.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Draft and coordinate external communications materials, including press releases, media advisories, fact sheets, talking points, and briefing documents.
• Support media outreach efforts, interview preparation, and relationship-building with industry media and other external stakeholders.
• Monitor industry developments and identify opportunities to increase visibility for SOLV Energy, its projects, and its leaders.
• Proactively identify, develop, and create content that highlights SOLV Energy's people, projects, innovations, partnerships, and industry expertise.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal subject matter experts, project teams, and business leaders to identify emerging stories, innovations, and communications opportunities.
• Conduct research and interviews to gather information and develop compelling communications content.
• Develop a variety of content, including thought leadership articles, project spotlights, and LinkedIn content.
• Translate technical information into clear, compelling content for external audiences.
• Contribute ideas that support long-term storytelling, reputation-building, and business objectives.
• Monitor industry, competitor, and company news and prepare regular reports highlighting key trends, opportunities, and potential reputational considerations.
