Job summary

CAI is seeking an Exoskeleton Design and Rehabilitation Engineering Intern to support R&D of wearable exoskeleton systems. This part-time, remote role involves creating and modifying 3D mechanical designs in SolidWorks, and designing components for lower-limb and shoulder systems.

You will collaborate with graduate and medical students, prepare CAD models for 3D printing, document iterations, and help transition concepts into functional prototypes in rehabilitation robotics.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed degree in a relevant engineering field.
• Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
• Strong problem-solving and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify 3D mechanical designs using SolidWorks.
• Design components for lower-limb, shoulder, and lumbar exoskeletons.
• Prepare CAD models for 3D printing and prototyping.
• Assist assembly, testing, and refinement of prototypes.
• Collaborate with researchers and staff on multidisciplinary projects.
• Document design iterations and project progress.
• Support development of rehabilitation technologies to improve mobility.
