Kinoped, a Sacramento-based lower-extremity rehabilitation robotics company, is seeking an engineer to bridge hardware performance with human biomechanics. You will collaborate with engineering and research teams to turn clinical needs into testable engineering requirements and validation protocols.

The role emphasizes analyzing biomechanical data, translating research questions into measurable specifications, and contributing to development of robotic assistive devices for rehabilitation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomechanics, Kinesiology, or related field.
• Working knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy and lower-extremity biomechanics
• Proficiency in Python or MATLAB for biomechanical data analysis
• Experience translating clinical or research needs into engineering requirements and test protocols

Overview

The Kinoped is a lower-extremity rehabilitation robot. You'll work with our engineering and research teams to connect what the hardware does to what happens in a person's body, and to turn clinical and research needs into engineering requirements we can build, measure, and validate.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomechanics, Kinesiology, or a related field
• Working knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy and lower-extremity biomechanics
• Proficiency in Python or MATLAB for biomechanical data analysis
• Experience translating clinical or research needs into engineering requirements and test protocols

Preferred Qualifications

• Biomechanical analysis tools (OpenSim, Visual3D) and the C3D data format
• Exposure to rehabilitation robotics, exoskeletons, or motion analysis systems
• Hands-on experience with motion capture, force plates, or surface EMG
• Familiarity with medical or research device regulatory pathways (Health Canada, FDA)
