Job summary

Ryan Specialty seeks an Executive Underwriter – Professional Liability with a primary focus on Architects & Engineers (A&E) accounts to drive profitable growth. You will underwrite complex risks, review submissions, and collaborate with retail brokers nationwide to expand market opportunities.

The role requires 10+ years in A&E/E&O underwriting, deep knowledge of risk exposures, and licenses such as CPCU/AU/RPLU.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, Insurance, or a related field.
• 10+ years of Professional Liability / E&O underwriting experience.
• Significant experience underwriting Architects & Engineers Professional Liability risks.
• State Property & Casualty and/or Surplus Lines license required.
• CPCU, AU, RPLU, or other relevant designations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and manage a portfolio of Architects & Engineers Professional Liability risks.
• Analyze submissions, loss history, and exposures to determine pricing and terms.
• Develop and maintain broker relationships on a national basis.
• Support portfolio strategies and monitor performance and profitability.
• Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced underwriting staff.
