Job summary

Ryan Specialty, LLC is seeking an Executive Underwriter – Professional Liability to drive profitable growth by underwriting a portfolio of Architects & Engineers E&O risks and leading strategy with brokers nationwide. In this remote role, you will evaluate complex exposures, tailor coverage, manage pricing and terms, and mentor junior staff to support portfolio performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, Insurance, or related field preferred.
• 10+ years of Professional Liability / E&O underwriting experience.
• Significant experience underwriting Architects & Engineers Professional Liability risks.
• Experience underwriting both admitted and surplus lines.

Responsibilities

• Underwriting & Portfolio Management: Independently underwrite and manage a portfolio of Professional Liability risks, with a primary focus on Architects & Engineers accounts.
• Broker & Market Development: Develop and maintain relationships with retail brokers nationwide; negotiate pricing, coverage and terms.
• Strategy & Technical Expertise: Support portfolio strategies, monitor market conditions, and enhance underwriting guidelines and product offerings.
• Collaboration & Portfolio Performance: Partner with Claims, Actuarial, Product, Legal, and Compliance to manage portfolio performance and ensure regulatory compliance.
