Job summary

Ionis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is seeking an Executive Director, Head of Payer Account Management to lead payer access strategy across the company’s current and future portfolio. This leader will set vision, operating models, and multi‑year plans to secure payer coverage and remove reimbursement barriers for launch products.

The role reports to executive management and partners with Legal, Compliance, and Finance. Remote work is offered with up to 50% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; MBA strongly preferred.
• At least 18 years of biotech/pharma experience with 8+ years in payer account management.
• Successful specialty product launch experience in the US is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead payer account management strategy across Ionis’s portfolio with multiyear objectives.
• Engage strategic payer accounts to communicate value and secure coverage.
• Oversee account plans across pre-launch, launch and post-launch stages.
• Advise executive management on payer, policy, and market dynamics.
