Ionis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is seeking an Executive Director, Head of Payer Account Management. The role leads payer strategy, engagement, and access across our current and future portfolio to secure payer coverage and remove reimbursement barriers for launch products.

The position requires extensive biotech/pharma payer experience, leadership of large teams, and strong negotiation and strategic planning skills. This remote role offers a national scope with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA strongly preferred.
• 18+ years of biotech/pharma experience with at least 8 years in payer account management.
• Successful specialty product launch experience in the US is required.

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead the enterprise payer account management strategy across Ionis’s portfolio.
• Leverage relationships at strategic payer accounts to communicate the value proposition of launch products.
• Communicate clinical and economic value of Ionis products to payers, formulary committees and other decision-makers.
• Set the strategic framework for account-specific engagement and develop plans to maximize patient access and reimbursement.
• Lead and develop the Payer Account Management function and oversee organizational capabilities and performance.
