Ionis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. seeks an Executive Director to lead Neurology Clinical Development. You will shape strategy, oversee integrated development plans, and guide early-to-registrational programs in neurology, including pediatric populations.

You will manage cross-functional teams, interact with regulators, and drive high‑quality execution and scientific leadership across departments, ensuring patient impact and timely regulatory progress.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in clinical development.
• Experience leading early- through mid-stage programs.
• Experience in rare disease, pediatric neurology; genetics preferred.
• Ability to develop and execute integrated development plans.
• Experience with regulatory submissions and health authority interactions.
• Strong end-to-end drug development knowledge.
• Experience mentoring and developing team members.
• Experience working with external partners and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for ongoing programs and development milestones.
• Lead clinical development planning for early-stage programs.
• Design and oversee clinical studies in neurology populations.
• Collaborate with Regulatory, Medical Affairs, and other functions.
• Lead regulatory strategies and interactions with health authorities.
• Manage program budgets and resource planning.
