Job summary

Stringfellow Management Group, an Etherio Company, seeks an Executive Director for the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI). The role leads governance, strategy, and operations for a $3 million nonprofit, with a focus on membership growth, conferences, and publications.

Travel domestically and internationally; telecommute widely. The ideal candidate has 7–10 years in association leadership, board engagement, budgeting, and strong public speaking skills.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience, preferably in an association or nonprofit.
• Experience working with a volunteer Board and volunteer leaders.
• Knowledge of nonprofit governance, including the line between Board governance and staff management.
• Experience with budgeting, financial analysis, and resource allocation.
• Record of developing and executing strategic plans and leading staff.
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and public-speaking skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as principal staff advisor to the Board, Executive Committee, and President; translate board policies into strategy.
• Lead strategic plan execution with measurable goals and adoption of emerging technologies.
• Oversee education, training, certification, conferences, and publications; support volunteers.
• Manage membership engagement, retention, and revenue opportunities (membership, events, grants).
• Develop and monitor annual budget in collaboration with Board and finance staff.
• Lead external relations, partnerships, and government relations activities.
• Represent the organization publicly to protect reputation and credential integrity.
• Guide chapters and international engagement; support global growth.
