Job summary

Association Innovation and Management, Inc. (AIM) in Reston, VA, seeks an Executive Director of Programs & Operations to lead financial oversight, governance, and scientific programming for a nonprofit client-partner.

The role includes Executive Committee support, staff oversight, and coordination of programs, communications, and events. The position requires 8–10 years of nonprofit senior management experience, a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, and strong leadership and budgeting skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• CAE preferred.
• 8–10 years of nonprofit senior management experience including committee management.
• Supervisory experience with teams of three or more.

Responsibilities

• Support Society leadership in fulfilling the Society’s mission and strategic plan.
• Keep the board fully informed of operations, financial conditions, and influencing factors.
• Partner with the Treasurer on annual budgeting to ensure priorities are met.
• Provide detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Ensure adherence to budget and audit guidelines and maintain fiduciary responsibility.
• Build relationships with financial entities to ensure oversight of accounts.
• Oversee the development of the annual meeting program, including content, registration, and events.
• Lead staff and committees to execute plans and policies.
• Maintain a climate that attracts and motivates a diverse team.
• Oversee communications, publications, and email marketing, and collaborate with branding.
• Organize governance materials and election processes.
• Support Society committees to help achieve objectives.
• Serve as business contact for journal publisher.
