Job summary

American Heart Association seeks an intern to support our Laurel Highlands Heart Ball, Blair Go Red for Women Events, and Central PA Women of Impact Campaign. You will help plan, coordinate, and execute campaign activities, with a focus on events and donor engagement.

The internship runs 20 hours per week from 01/25/27 to 05/07/27, primarily remote with travel to Blair and Cambria Counties. Ideal for seniors or graduate students in business, communications, nonprofit fundraising, or event

Qualifications

• Seniors or grad students pursuing a degree in business, communications, nonprofit fundraising, or event management.
• Highly skilled with Canva. Basic Adobe experience.
• Experience/interest in promotion, sales, or fundraising.
• Demonstrated excellence in written communication skills.
• Demonstrated skills in effective one-on-one and group communications and comfort with working with community leaders, volunteers, and staff.
• Proficient in multiple social media platforms.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple priorities.
• MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint proficiency.
• Reliable transportation to Central PA (Blair and Cambria Counties).
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, coordinating, and executing pre-event logistics and on-site event management for multiple community events.
• Conduct pre-event outreach to attendees and members of giving societies such as Cor Vitae and Circle of Red membership.
• Assist with sponsor presentation preparation and gathering materials for sponsor follow-up after meetings.
• Assist with pulling reports, data entry, and organizing event-related information to track progress and outcomes.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as preparing printed materials, assembling thank-you cards, and organizing event supplies.
