Job summary

American Heart Association seeks an intern for our Laurel Highlands Heart Ball and Blair Go Red for Women events, remote in Central PA with travel to Blair and Cambria Counties.

The role supports planning, outreach, sponsor materials, and data reporting while gaining hands-on nonprofit fundraising experience. 20 hours/week, 1/25/27–5/7/27, with strong development opportunities and Heart U resources.

Qualifications

• Candidates who are seniors or graduate students pursuing a degree in business, communications, nonprofit fundraising, or event management.
• Highly skilled with Canva. Basic Adobe experience.
• Experience/interest in promotion, sales, or fundraising.
• Demonstrated excellence in written communication skills.
• Demonstrated skills in effective one-on-one and group communications and comfort with leaders, volunteers, staff.
• Effective oral presentation communication skills.
• Proficient in multiple social media platforms.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities.
• Intermediate to excellent proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Reliable transportation to Central PA Blair and Cambria Counties.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, coordinating, and executing pre-event logistics, and on-site event management for multiple community events.
• Conduct pre-event outreach to attendees and members of giving societies.
• Assist with sponsor presentation preparation and follow-up materials to maintain relationships.
• Assist with pulling reports, data entry, and organizing event-related information.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as preparing printed materials, thank-you cards, and organizing supplies.
