The American Heart Association is offering a 20-hour-per-week internship supporting our Laurel Highlands Heart Ball and Blair Go Red for Women events, plus Central PA Women of Impact. This remote Central PA position travels to Blair and Cambria Counties for events, with a $23/hour stipend and a 1/25/27–5/7/27 timeframe.

Ideal for seniors or grad students in related fields seeking hands-on fund‑raising experience.

Qualifications

• Seniors or graduate students in business, communications, nonprofit fundraising, or event management.
• Highly skilled with Canva. Basic Adobe experience.
• Experience/interest in promotion, sales, or fundraising.
• Demonstrated excellence in written communication skills.
• Demonstrated skills in effective one-on-one and group communications and comfort with stakeholders.
• Effective oral presentation communication skills.
• Proficient in multiple social media platforms.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
• MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint proficiency.
• Reliable transportation to Central PA, Blair and Cambria Counties.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, coordinating, and executing pre-event logistics, and on-site event management for multiple community events.
• Conduct pre-event outreach to attendees and members of giving societies.
• Assist with sponsor presentation preparation and materials for follow-up.
• Assist with pulling reports, data entry, and organizing event information.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as preparing materials and organizing event supplies.
