Job summary

CDC Foundation is seeking a full-time Evaluation Technical Advisor to support an evaluation capacity-building project for veteran-serving organizations implementing public health suicide prevention programs.

You will work with CDC subject matter experts and project staff to provide expert guidance, develop evaluation plans, and translate data into actions for program improvement. Remote work within the United States is required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in public health, public administration, community development, program measurement & evaluation, public policy or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation with a focus on upstream public health programs.
• Experience in suicide prevention and/or veteran communities preferred.
• Experience with logic models, indicators, data collection instruments, and evaluation reports.
• Ability to conduct evaluation from start to finish including stakeholder engagement and evaluation design.
• Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis; monitoring best practices.
• Familiarity with CDC Framework for Program Evaluation in Public Health and AEA Guiding Principles.
• Experience managing capacity building efforts and technical assistance for grantees.
• Strong communication to diverse stakeholders and non-technical audiences.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide subject matter expertise on evaluation concepts and frameworks.
• Co-lead capacity building and technical assistance for program grantees.
• Advise and coach grantees to strengthen evaluation competencies with CDC partners.
• Provide tailored technical assistance for evaluation plans and tools.
• Supervise collection and analysis of data within project timelines.
• Review and provide written feedback on evaluation deliverables.
• Oversee design and implementation of performance and impact evaluations.
• Represent the CDC Foundation at partnership events.
• Lead special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Travel for in-person training and partner meetings as needed.
