Job summary

ESG Consulting is seeking a Public Health Program Evaluation Lead to support program evaluation, data collection, analysis, reporting, and quality improvement initiatives. The role emphasizes developing evaluation strategies, conducting surveys, focus groups, and stakeholder interviews, and translating findings into actionable improvements.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in program evaluation, data analysis, and reporting, with strong analytical and communication skills,

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent work experience in Public Health, Community Development, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience developing and implementing program evaluation strategies including surveys, focus groups, stakeholder interviews.
  • 3+ years of experience analyzing data and creating reports using available data sources.
  • Experience with complex data collection, data entry, data quality, and analysis.
  • Ability to coordinate and influence teams without formal supervisory authority.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement program evaluation and quality improvement strategies, tools, metrics, and data collection plans.
  • Design and support evaluation activities including surveys, focus groups, stakeholder interviews, and other data collection methods.
  • Manage and coordinate data collection, data entry, and evaluation activities across program teams.
  • Analyze program data, interpret findings, and prepare periodic reports for program managers and senior leadership.
  • Conduct data integrity and quality checks and troubleshoot data collection and entry issues.
  • Ensure data is collected and maintained according to established protocols and evaluation plans.
  • Use evaluation findings to support quality improvement (QI) activities and monitor implementation of improvement plans.
  • Maintain evaluation documentation, records, databases, and data collection procedure manuals.
  • Train and support staff on program evaluation processes, metrics, data collection, and quality improvement best practices.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, regulatory entities, academic partners, and other external stakeholders.
  • Stay current on public health research, program evaluation methodologies, and quality improvement practices.

Official Title: Program Evaluation Lead, Surveillance Systems and Informatics

Our client is seeking an experienced Public Health Program Evaluation Lead to support program evaluation, data collection, analysis, reporting, and quality improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience developing and implementing program evaluation strategies, including surveys, focus groups, and stakeholder interviews, along with strong experience analyzing data and translating evaluation findings into actionable quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement program evaluation and quality improvement strategies, tools, metrics, and data collection plans.
  • Design and support evaluation activities, including surveys, focus groups, stakeholder interviews, and other data collection methods.
  • Manage and coordinate data collection, data entry, and evaluation activities across program teams.
  • Analyze program data, interpret findings, and prepare periodic reports for program managers and senior leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or equivalent work experience in Public Health, Community Development, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience developing and implementing program evaluation strategies, including surveys, focus groups, and stakeholder interviews.
  • 3+ years of experience analyzing data and creating reports using available data sources.
  • Experience with complex data collection, data entry, data quality, and analysis.
  • Experience performing comparative analysis using publicly available data sources.Strong analytical, organizational, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate and influence teams without formal supervisory authority.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and online data collection/data entry platforms.
  • Ability to appropriately handle confidential information.
Preferred Background:

Candidates with experience in public health program evaluation, epidemiology, surveillance programs, health departments, government public health programs, or quality improvement initiatives are strongly encouraged to apply.

Location Requirement:

Candidates must be residents of Tennessee or surrounding areas and must be able to commute to the assigned Tennessee office on a regular basis. This is a hybrid position, with the exact onsite schedule to be determined with the selected candidate.
